Open Header(.hdr) or DEM(.dem)
is used to open a FlyBy header file (.hdr) or Digital Elevation Model located on the local system. FlyBy currently reads only 1 Degree (1:250,000-scale) DEMs. FlyBy looks for the extension ".dem" to determine if a file is a DEM. This extension is not on files obtained from the USGS but must be added by the FlyBy user. DEMs are available from the USGS at either of:
The Open Header dailog allows files to be selected from the local machine or from remote machines using FTP or HTTP.
Open New Header
enable the user to load a flyby scene without using a header file. All the elements of a header file are specified through the dialog box and when the scene is ready to load, just hit the Okay button.
Save Header
is used to save the current settings to a header file (.hdr). Any TINs that are currently valid will also be saved.
Save Image
is used to save the current window to an SGI .rgb file.
Save VRML
is used to save the currently displayed model as a VRML 2.0 file.
